The history of Sandy Beach Lodge dates back to 1940’s, when its original owners purchased the future site of the lodge with a dream of designing and building a family resort. |

This dream became a reality in 1945 when the log lodge was built with hand selected local logs. In 1951, Sandy Beach Lodge opened for business with full dining facilities – including high tea – in the summer months. |

In 1986, the resort came under new ownership.with the desire to upgrade the facility for a new generation, while maintaining the original concept and beauty of the Sandy Beach Lodge. The original log lodge was restored and the resort’s five seasonal cabins were replaced with new winterized log cabins for year-round enjoyment. The main lodge and B&B rooms upstairs were fully renovated keeping the original wrought iron furnishings. |

Over the past 20 years, the lodge has undergone numerous property improvements, while remaining true to its original integrity and a desire to provide guests with a truly memorable holiday experience. Amidst the many changes the resort has seen, we’re proud to say that returning guests are a constant with some families visiting us regularly for over 30 years. |
